Using the Grid

The HMI editor provides a grid that helps you to arrange HMI objects on the HMI page. By default, the grid is not visible.

The visibility of the grid within the active page can be toggled by clicking the toggle grid button on the editor's toolbar or pressing <Ctrl>+<F5>.

The snap-to-grid function allows you to snap objects to the grid when moving, aligning, sizing or inserting them. The snap-to-grid function for the active page is turned on or off by clicking the snap-to-grid button on the editor's toolbar or pressing <Ctrl>+<F6>. (The button appears highlighted when the function is enabled.)

The default grid settings such as the initial state of the toggle grid and snap-to-grid buttons, the cell size, the grid line color, etc. for newly created HMI pages are defined in the 'Extras > Options' dialog under the 'HMI Editor' category. Here, the grid settings for HMI pages and HMI symbols can be configured separately.
