Managing HMI Pages Using the 'Navigation' Editor
Add a page to the navigation structure
Proceed as follows:
- Open the 'Navigation' editor by double-clicking the 'Application' subnode under the 'HMI Webserver' node in the PLANT and selecting the 'Navigation' tab in the editor group.
- Drag the HMI page from the PLANT into the editor and drop it onto the connection point where you want to insert it.
Alternatively, drag a blank page template from the 'Default > Page Templates' folder under the 'HMI' category in the COMPONENTS area and drop it into the editor (this operation creates a new page in the PLANT).When moving the page in the editor, the valid insertion positions (connection points) for the page are displayed by green markers. As soon as a valid connection/position is detected by the editor, a green connection line appears from the connection point of the new page to the connection point of the existing page.
Delete one or more pages from the navigation structure
To delete one or more HMI pages from the 'Navigation' editor, select the pages and press <Del> or select 'Edit > Delete'.
When deleting pages in the 'Navigation' editor or the PLANT, observe the following:
- Deleting one or several pages from the 'Navigation' editor does not delete the corresponding pages in the PLANT.
- When deleting a page from the PLANT that is connected to another page in the 'Navigation' editor, the deleted page is highlighted with a red frame in the navigation structure. The highlighted page must be additionally deleted from the 'Navigation' editor.
The red marking is removed when you restore the page from the RECYCLE BIN.
- Deleting a page that has several pages connected to it deletes the page and all of its children from the 'Navigation' editor. In the following example, deleting 'Page1' deletes all its children pages 'Page4', 'Page5', and 'Page6'.
- Deleting the startup page:If the startup page has no pages connected to its right (as shown in the following example), deleting the startup page deletes the entire navigation structure.
If the startup page has a page (several pages) connected to the right, the first page connected to the right of the startup page becomes the new startup page ('Page1' in the following example). The new startup page is designated in the PLANT with the startup icon. Any of the children pages of the deleted startup page are deleted ('Page2' in the following example).
