The following function blocks for security operations are available:

| SEC_TA4PLCNEXT_1ST_GEN | Returns a constant string with the PHOENIX device certificate hierarchy (hierarchy with all certificates including the certificates used on older devices). |
| SEC_TA4PLCNEXT_2ND_GEN | Returns a constant string with the PHOENIX device certificate hierarchy (hierarchy with only current certificates). |
| SEC_VERIFY_DEVICE_IDENTITY | Verifies the identity of the device with cryptographic methods and returns details of the device if valid. |
