Controller States

The following table lists the possible controller states. The active state is displayed at the controller node in the PLANT and in the ONLINE STATE window as well as in the tooltip of the controller node. Different icons are shown for the attached and detached connection state of the controller (detached = communication connection to the controller is established and debug mode is off; attached = communication connection to the controller is established and debug mode is on).

On The controller is on and accessible via online communication, but no program is loaded or writing the project is in progress.

Run The program is loaded and executing.

Stop The project is loaded but not executed.

Halt The controller is in debug mode and the program execution is halted.

Error An error has occurred on the controller.

Fatal Error A fatal error has occurred on the controller.
In case of a fatal error, the following applies:

The controller can only be rebooted.

No download to the controller is possible.

Forcing and overwriting is not allowed.

System Error A system error has occurred on the controller.
In case of a system error, no download to the project is possible. To resolve the error, reset your system configuration.

Stop			The project is loaded but not executed.

Fatal Error			A fatal error has occurred on the controller. In case of a fatal error, the following applies: The controller can only be rebooted. No download to the controller is possible. Forcing and overwriting is not allowed.
System Error			A system error has occurred on the controller. In case of a system error, no download to the project is possible. To resolve the error, reset your system configuration.
