Grouping/Ungrouping Objects
Two or more objects can be grouped together. The group of objects is then treated as single object. All modifications of the group properties are applied to all members of the group. It also allowed to group several groups to create nested groups.
You can manage the groups of objects via the HMI Object Explorer or on the HMI page. If the HMI Object Explorer is not visible, click the
button on the HMI page editor's toolbar.

Ungroup objects | Select the group and click the 'Ungroup' button on the toolbar. Alternatively, right-click the selection and select 'Ungroup' from the context menu.Using the HMI Object Explorer, select the group, right-click the selection and select 'Ungroup' from the context menu. |
Select a member of the group | Press the <ALT> key and click on the object within the group.Alternatively, right-click the group and select 'Select Object in Group > ObjectName' from the context menu of the group.Using the HMI Object Explorer, expand the group of objects and select the desired object within the group.The context menu for a selected group member offers various commands (e.g., Copy, Delete, etc.) that apply to the selected object. |
Add an object to a group | Right-click the object and select 'Add to Existing Group > GroupName'.Using the HMI Object Explorer, select the object and drag it while holding the left mouse button into the desired group. When moving the mouse over a group, the group node is highlighted with a grey outline. |
Edit a member of the group | To edit a member of the group individually without ungrouping the objects:
- Right-click the group and select 'Edit Group Member in Place > ObjectName' from the context menu of the group.Using the HMI Object Explorer, expand the group of objects and select the desired object within the group.
- Edit the object (the object's properties are shown in the properties window).
Alternatively, select a member of the group as described above and click the edit in-place button. |
Delete an object from a group | Right-click the group and select 'Delete Object from Group > ObjectName' from the context menu of the group.Using the HMI Object Explorer, expand the group of objects, select the desired object within the group and press the <Del> key. |
Ungroup an object from a group | Right-click the group and select 'Ungroup Object from Group > ObjectName' from the context menu of the group.Using the HMI Object Explorer, expand the group of objects, select the desired object within the group and drag the object out of the group. |
