Rebuild--Compiles the entire project without an automatically following transfer to the controller (and the Safety PLC, if included). You can use this command, for example, after editing the project or eliminating any errors the compiler reported during code development, or if changes have been made in a referenced user library.

If a Safety PLC is included, the command rebuilds both the standard and the safety-related project parts.
The 'IEC 61131-3' node additionally provides its own 'Rebuild...' context menu command in the PLANT which rebuilds the standard project part separately.

Refer to the topic "Rebuilding the Project (without Writing) ‣ Rebuilding the Project (without Writing)
×‣ Rebuilding the Safety-Related Project (without Writing)
×
" for details.

Note
Regard also the possibility to exclude code worksheets from the build process (see the topic "Excluding Code Worksheets from Build" for details).

Compare Projects--Compares the loaded project with a solution stored on your computer (see the topic "Project Comparison" for details).
Compare Online Project-- Compares the project loaded in PLCnext Engineer with the project that was last written to the controller (see the topic "Project Comparison" for details).
POU Protection-- Provides submenu items used for setting, changing, and removing a POU protection password in the project, and logging in and off. For each standard POU, the protection level is set in the 'Settings' editor of the POU in the 'POU Protection' group.

The status bar (in the left corner) provides the information that a POU protection password is defined (indicates whether you are logged in or logged off).

  • 'Set Password' - Opens the password dialog where you can set a password that will be required for log in to get full access (read and write permission) to protected POUs.
  • 'Change Password' - Opens the dialog used to change the POU protection password.
  • 'Remove Password' - Opens the dialog used to remove the POU protection password.
  • 'Log In' - Opens the login dialog enabling you to log in with the POU protection password to get full access to protected POUs.
  • 'Log Off' - Opens the logoff dialog where you reactivate (turn on) the POU protection, i.e., remove the permission to edit protected POUs.

Note
The POU protection password provides only rudimentary protection. It does not represent protection in the sense of valid security guidelines.

Refer to the topic "Protecting POUs in Projects" for details.
Change Password of Safety-related Area--Opens the 'Project Password Definition' dialog for changing the Safety-related Area password. Refer to the topic "Safety-Related Area with Password Protection" for details.
Change Language Profile for Safety POUs--Opens the 'Language Profile Selection' dialog where you can specify the safety-related functional language range (and this way the applicable standard) to be used in the project.

Functional language range in SNOLD: LVL or FVL.
