'Module List' Editor (EtherCAT Slave Device)
The following information refers to a specific, typical device type. Your screen may differ.
This help topic describes the 'Module List' editor of an EtherCAT slave device in the PLANT. EtherCAT slave devices are child elements of the 'EtherCAT' node (which represents the EtherCAT Master).
| Note
A 'Module List' editor is only available if the slave device allows the connection of additional modules (for example, a bus coupler to which I/O modules can be connected). |
The 'Module List' is also referred to as station editor.
This tabular editor contains all modules which have been added under an EtherCAT slave device. You can add EtherCAT modules here by clicking on an empty row into the 'Name' field and selecting a module using the role picker.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| # | Number of the EtherCAT module connected to the EtherCAT slave device. The number of lines (i.e., connectable devices) in the table depends on the slave device type (that is to say, on the number of connectable EtherCAT modules the slave devices supports). |
| Type | Type of the already inserted EtherCAT module. To add a further module, left-click into a field showing the text 'Select type here' or move the table cursor using the arrow keys to this table field and press <Enter>. The Role Picker appears for selecting devices. |
